Thermon strengthens European market position with acquisition of Italian F.A.T.I.

Thermon, our partner in industrial electric heating solutions, recently acquired Italian manufacturer Fabbrica Apparecchiature Termoelettriche Industriali S.r.L. (F.A.T.I.). Based in Cusago (Milan, Italy), the highly experienced F.A.T.I. specializes in electric heating systems for various sectors, including oil and gas, pharmaceutical, renewable energy, nuclear and HVAC.

As the official representative of Thermon heaters in the Benelux, this is great news for Kapp. But what does it mean for you? First and foremost, this strategic acquisition will enable us to serve our European customers with even greater efficiency. Thermon traditionally focuses on ASME standards, but by integrating F.A.T.I., we can now more easily supply pressure equipment that meets European PED directives, something F.A.T.I. excels in. This means not only smoother compliance with European certification requirements but also the potential to significantly reduce delivery times. Additionally, we are becoming more competitive in the market for smaller electric heaters, thanks to improved efficiency in areas like transportation and packaging. Another key benefit is our new capability to produce longer elements, up to 4.5 meters.

F.A.T.I. operates a facility with an order capacity similar to Thermon Oakville in Canada. As the demand for electrification and decarbonization solutions continues to rise, Thermon’s expansion into Italy enables Kapp to respond more swiftly and flexibly to the growing market needs. This acquisition highlights Thermon’s dedication to ongoing growth in the European market. The increased capacity and expertise open up new opportunities, particularly in terms of efficiency and innovation, positioning both Thermon and Kapp to be even better equipped for future challenges and opportunities.
